The final match of the European Chovqan Championship, organized by the International Chovqan Federation, was held in Poland from June 5 to 7, 2025. In a historic victory, the Azerbaijan national team was crowned European champion for the first time.
In the final, Azerbaijan faced off against Malta and claimed an emphatic 6–2 victory, securing the tournament trophy and writing a new chapter in the history of chovqan.
The championship kicked off on June 5, with six countries participating: Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Hungary, Malta, Poland, and the United Kingdom.
Azerbaijan’s campaign began with a 3–0 win over Türkiye on June 5, following the tournament draw. On June 6, in the semifinals, the Azerbaijani team maintained its dominance with a 4–0 victory against Hungary, securing a place in the final.
According to the international chovqan calendar, the next continental championships will be held in Uzbekistan (Asia) in early September, Nigeria (Africa) at the end of September, and Buenos Aires (South America) in November.
