Iran appoints new ambassador to Azerbaijan

Iran has appointed Mojtaba Demirchilou as its new ambassador to Azerbaijan.

Demirchilou, currently serving as the Director General of the Eurasian Affairs Department at the Iranian Foreign Ministry, will take over as head of the diplomatic mission in Baku.

The previous ambassador, Seyid Abbas Mousavi, completed his term in May 2024.
