Azerbaijan and Israel discuss expanded security ties

Azerbaijan and Israel have reaffirmed their strong bilateral ties as Defense Ministers Zakir Hasanov and Israel Katz met in Tel Aviv to discuss enhanced security cooperation and mutual strategic interests.

Azerbaijani Defense Minister Zakir Hasanov held talks with his Israeli counterpart, Israel Katz in Tel Aviv, focusing on strengthening defense and security collaboration between the two nations. The Israeli Defense Ministry issued a statement highlighting the depth of their strategic alliance, built on shared interests and trust.

Minister Katz thanked Azerbaijan for its support in mediating relations between Israel and Türkiye. He also mentioned Azerbaijan’s Eurovision votes, which gave Israel the highest points, calling it a meaningful gesture of friendship.

Both sides agreed to enhance their defense cooperation, with Israel emphasizing the strategic importance of its ties with Azerbaijan, particularly due to its proximity to Iran.
