Senior aviation officials from Azerbaijan and Saudi Arabia met in Baku to discuss expanding air links and deepening cooperation in the aviation sector, with a focus on tourism and economic growth.
President of “Azerbaijan Airlines” CJSC Samir Rzayev held a meeting with Essam bin Saleh Al-Jutaili, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Azerbaijan, to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in air transportation.
The discussions centered on increasing passenger traffic and broadening partnerships in the aviation industry. Both sides emphasized that improved air connectivity would bolster tourism and promote deeper economic ties between the two nations.
In 2024, Azerbaijan welcomed 94,300 visitors from Saudi Arabia, reflecting growing interest and cooperation in travel and tourism.
Currently, AZAL operates flights on the Baku–Dammam–Baku route twice weekly, on Mondays and Fridays, and offers service to Riyadh three times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays.
The meeting underscored the growing momentum in bilateral aviation ties and reaffirmed the commitment of both countries to further strengthening this strategic partnership.
