On April 2, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, President of the Federal Republic of Germany, accompanied by his wife Elke Büdenbender, visited the Alley of Martyrs in Baku to honor the Azerbaijani heroes who sacrificed their lives for the country’s independence and territorial integrity.
During the visit, President Steinmeier paid his respects by laying a wreath at the Eternal Flame monument, a symbol of remembrance for those who gave their lives in defense of Azerbaijan.
Following the tribute, the German president and his wife were given a panoramic view of Baku, while learning about the history of the Alley of Martyrs and the ongoing redevelopment efforts taking place in the city.
