Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has approved a new agreement governing the supply of natural gas from Azerbaijan to neighbouring Georgia.
The decree ratifies the agreement signed by the two governments in Baku on 18 May 2026, marking another step in energy cooperation between the two countries.
Under the presidential order, Azerbaijan's Ministry of Economy will oversee implementation of the agreement once it enters into force.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will formally notify the Georgian government once all of Azerbaijan's domestic legal procedures have been completed, allowing the agreement to take effect.
The deal is expected to strengthen the long-standing energy partnership between Azerbaijan and Georgia, with both countries remaining key partners in regional energy and transport projects.
