Houthi official claims U.S., Israel killed Khamenei over Palestine

Iran's Press TV

A senior Houthi official has claimed the U.S. and Israel assassinated Iran's former supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, because of his support for the Palestinian cause.

Mohammed al-Bukhaiti, a spokesperson for Yemen's Houthis, told Iranian state-linked broadcaster Press TV that Khamenei was targeted because of his efforts to back what he described as the "liberation of Palestine".

Calling Khamenei "a symbol of resistance and freedom", al-Bukhaiti said his "intellectual and political vision across the Islamic world", along with his support for Palestine, were among the reasons "the West became determined to assassinate him".
