President Ilham Aliyev met with Jared Cohen, President of Global Affairs at The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc., in Munich on 14 February to discuss ongoing cooperation and future partnership opportunities. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference 2026.
The meeting reviewed the successful collaboration between Azerbaijan and Goldman Sachs, which has been under way since 2010. The parties assessed the current state of relations and explored prospects for expanding cooperation across various sectors of Azerbaijan’s economy.
Particular emphasis was placed on the partnership between the State Oil Fund of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) and Goldman Sachs.
Goldman Sachs, headquartered in New York City and founded in 1869, is one of the world’s leading financial institutions. The firm operates across investment and consumer banking, securities and asset management, and currently manages approximately $2.8 trillion in assets in more than 40 countries.
