The match intensified in the second half as Frankfurt went ahead in the 78th minute through Farès Chaïbi, who converted a penalty. Qarabağ hit back just two minutes later, with Durán scoring his second of the night to restore parity.
With the match heading towards a draw, Qarabağ sealed the win in the fourth minute of added time. Bahlul Mustafazadə struck from the centre of the box following a corner, sparking celebrations at the Tofiq Bahramov Republican Stadium.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has congratulated Qarabağ FK following its victory.
In a social media post, the president praised the team’s performance and resilience, saying the win came despite what he described as unfair and biased refereeing decisions. He also called on UEFA to clarify the referee appointment, adding that ‘justice and an unbreakable spirit’ had prevailed.
“I heartily congratulate Qarabağ football club on its brilliant victory over Eintracht in the league phase of the Champions League.
Despite the unfair and biased decisions of the referee, justice prevailed. This is not the first time that referees appointed by UEFA have attempted to block Qarabağ’s path to victory with unfair and biased decisions. I hope UEFA will clarify who appointed this referee.
It is impossible to defeat justice and an unbreakable spirit. Long live Qarabağ!”
The two sides had been level at 1–1 earlier in the competition, but Qarabağ’s late surge ensured all three points on this occasion, underlining their strong finish in front of home supporters.
