Baku is hosting the 12th meeting of the Organisation of Turkic States (OTS) Media and Information Working Group, on Thursday, where key representatives are discussing media collaboration and coordination among member states.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Rasim Baghirov, Head of the Working Group on International Relations and Strategic Planning of the Media Development Agency, emphasised the importance of ongoing collaboration within the OTS.
He said that joint projects, institutional cooperation mechanisms, and the exchange of mutual information in the media field have made a significant contribution to strengthening ties among member states.
According to him, these efforts are helping to form a unified and sustainable communication space among Turkic-speaking countries.
Ömer Kocaman, Deputy Secretary General of the Organisation of Turkic States (OTS), noted that modern information environment requires new approaches not only in terms of security, but also in terms of management, planning, and interstate coordination.
Subsequently, the meeting featured discussions on the implementation of the OTS Action Plan for 2025 in the relevant field, which was updated according to the upcoming tasks in 2026.
The event participants then discussed the draft Communiqué - the final document of the 7th Meeting of the Ministers and Senior Officials in charge of Media and Information of the OTS, as well as proposals on the venue and dates of the next meeting.
