Flights to several Russian cities temporarily halted
Flights from Baku to several Russian cities are suspended from December 28 due to safety concerns. Affected passengers can request a full refund or free ticket exchange.
Following the decision of Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL)'s Supervisory Board, 20,000 manats will be provided as compensation to each injured passenger of flight J2-8243, while 40,000 manats will be allocated to the families of those who tragically lost their lives in the crash of the "Embraer 190" aircraft.
Additionally, all passengers will receive insurance compensation in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Azerbaijan and international standards.
AZAL has released the crew list for flight J2-8243, which crashed in Aktau today.
Farid Huseynov, Head of the AZAL Press Department, has confirmed that a total of 67 people were on board the plane involved in the recent incident, including 62 passengers and 5 crew members.
The Kremlin has declined to comment on the Azerbaijani Airlines plane crash in Kazakhstan, saying that they are waiting for the official investigation results.
