Farid Huseynov, Head of the AZAL Press Department, has confirmed that a total of 67 people were on board the plane involved in the recent incident, including 62 passengers and 5 crew members.
Emergency contacts were quickly established with Kazakh authorities, and the country’s emergency services provided immediate support at the scene.
The passengers included 37 Azerbaijani citizens, 16 Russian citizens, 6 Kazakh citizens, and 3 Kyrgyz citizens. The official list of the deceased and injured will be released shortly.
In accordance with President Ilham Aliyev’s instructions, relevant state officials convened a meeting to address the situation. A special investigative team has been formed, and the Deputy Prosecutor General is already in Kazakhstan to oversee the investigation.
A special medical team and necessary equipment have been sent to Kazakhstan by plane. A hotline has been set up for the families of the passengers, and psychological support will be offered to the injured and their loved ones.
