Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met in Baku with the European Union Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported on the meeting.
Discussions focused on current cooperation and future plans between Azerbaijan and the European Union. Both sides underlined the importance of high-level contacts in strengthening relations.
Particular emphasis was placed on expanding cooperation in energy security, transport routes and renewable energy, as well as on the significance of joint efforts in tackling environmental issues and climate change.
Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov also briefed the Commissioner on the situation in the region in the post-conflict period. Satisfaction was expressed with the agreements reached during last month’s meeting in Washington. It was noted that Azerbaijan will continue its efforts to advance the peace agenda and regional normalisation.
The two sides also exchanged views on other bilateral and regional matters of mutual interest.
