Armenian Parliamentary Speaker Alen Simonyan highlighted Azerbaijan’s desire to prevent future threats, while stressing the importance for Armenia to unblock communications and participate in the Zangezur Corridor project.
Armenian media reported that Parliamentary Speaker Alen Simonyan said it is understandable that Azerbaijan wants to prevent any future threat.
He noted, “It is obvious that for Azerbaijan it is important to prevent any future threat and to make sure it does not arise, say, in 50 or 100 years… Anything can happen.”
Simonyan emphasised that for Armenia, it is crucial to unblock communications as soon as possible.
Regarding the 'Trump Route,' the section of the Zangezur Corridor passing through Armenia, he suggested, “an Armenian company could, for example, work on building energy infrastructure, while another company might construct the railway.”
“These issues will be handled by a joint Armenian–American organisation,” he added.
