Türkiye’s Ministry of National Defence has warned that the terrorist group Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF)’s inability to integrate into the Syrian army poses a serious threat to the country’s political and territorial integrity.
At its weekly press briefing on Thursday, the ministry said:
“The terrorist SDF’s failure to meet its commitments on disarmament and integration undermines Syrian unity, territorial integrity, and Türkiye’s national security.”
The ministry added that Ankara will continue to monitor the situation and, where necessary, “provide support to Syria to safeguard both Türkiye’s security and Syria’s stability.”
Earlier, on 10 March, the Syrian presidency announced an agreement to integrate the SDF into state institutions, stressing the country’s territorial integrity and rejecting any separatist agenda.
