President Ilham Aliyev has signed an order allocating funds from Azerbaijan’s 2025 state budget to support humanitarian aid for Ukraine.
According to the decree, $2 million (in manat equivalent) will be taken from the Presidential Reserve Fund and transferred to the Ministry of Energy. The funds will be used to purchase and deliver Azerbaijan-made electrical equipment as part of the humanitarian assistance.
The document underscores Azerbaijan’s adherence to humanitarian values, noting that the country has extended aid to many nations through both bilateral and multilateral channels. In recent years, several humanitarian shipments have been sent to Ukraine amid the ongoing crisis.
Ties between the two countries rest on friendship and partnership, reinforced by key agreements such as the 2000 Agreement on Friendship, Cooperation and Partnership, the 2008 Declaration on Friendship and Strategic Partnership, and the 2022 Joint Declaration signed by the presidents.
The Ministry of Finance is tasked with ensuring the allocation of funds, while the Cabinet of Ministers will handle related organisational matters.
