A bus operated by Kern Transit overturned on Tuesday morning, after hitting railway tracks alongside Sierra Highway in Lancaster, California, according to authorities. Approximately 20 people, including an eight-year-old boy, were reported injured in the accident, according to emergency services.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department and the California Highway Patrol said the bus crashed into railway tracks running alongside Sierra Highway shortly before 11:20 am local time, causing the vehicle to overturn.
Initial reports to emergency services indicated that nearly 20 people sustained injuries.
The bus involved is operated by Kern Transit, a company that provides interregional transportation services.
