U.S. Embassy in Qatar urges Americans to shelter amid Iran-Israel tensions

The U.S. Embassy in Qatar has advised American citizens to shelter in place amid rising tensions between Israel and Iran, as part of a broader global security alert issued by Washington.

The advisory follows a “worldwide caution” alert issued by the U.S. State Department for citizens abroad due to escalating tensions between Israel and Iran. The global alert warns Americans to exercise increased caution and be aware of potential protests or threats against U.S. citizens and interests overseas.

The State Department also referenced disruptions to air travel and occasional airspace closures across the Middle East caused by the ongoing Israel-Iran conflict.

Just days earlier, the U.S. Embassy in Qatar temporarily restricted staff from accessing Al Udeid Air Base- Washington’s largest military facility in the region—located near Doha.

Meanwhile, Qatar’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson emphasized that the security situation in the country remains stable. He noted that recent advisories issued by several embassies do not necessarily reflect the existence of specific threats.
