Türkiye's defence company Havelsan has signed a strategic partnership with UAE-based Calidus to develop a comprehensive training ecosystem for pilots of the B-250 light attack and trainer aircraft.
Türkiye’s leading defence technology provider, Havelsan, has entered into a long-term cooperation with the United Arab Emirates’ Calidus to create integrated training systems for the B-250 light attack and trainer aircraft.
The strategic agreement was officially signed at IDEF 2025 in July and builds on an earlier protocol signed during SAHA EXPO 2023.
The systems will be installed at Calidus facilities in the UAE, allowing pilots to undergo comprehensive training across all phases of flight before stepping into the cockpit.
Havelsan’s CEO, Dr. Mehmet Akif Nacar, emphasised that the project reflects Havelsan’s vision of developing “human-centred, integrated, and reliable systems that prepare pilots for unexpected conditions.”
Meanwhile, Calidus CEO Dr. Khalifa Murad Al Balooshi highlighted that Havelsan’s expertise will deliver “modern and future-oriented training capabilities,” stressing that the partnership marks the foundation of a long-term strategic relationship built on trust and innovation.
Beyond a system delivery, the B-250 training ecosystem is positioned as a model project that merges technology and strategy in aviation training. For Türkiye, the deal also strengthens its global defence export profile, underlining the country’s rising role in advanced simulation and training technologies.
