The Committee on International Affairs, Defense, Security, and Migration of the Kyrgyz Parliament (Jogorku Kenesh) has approved in its second reading a draft law to ratify an agreement on migration cooperation with Azerbaijan, according to a statement from Kyrgyzstan's Parliament.

The agreement aims to enhance collaboration and governance in migration matters between the two nations. It focuses on improving the quality of migration-related statistical data, facilitating smoother operational interactions for Kyrgyz citizens residing in Azerbaijan, and expediting information exchange on labor migrants.

The agreement was signed on April 24 during President Sadyr Zhaparov's state visit to Azerbaijan. The signing took place in Baku, cementing commitments made between the Government of Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan’s Cabinet of Ministers.

The ratification of this agreement is expected to strengthen bilateral ties and streamline migration processes for both countries.
