Kyrgyzstan’s economy expanded by 11.5 percent in the first seven months of 2025, reaching 9.9 billion U.S. dollars, official data shows.

Kyrgyzstan’s National Statistical Committee reported Friday that the service sector was the largest contributor to the economy, accounting for 51.1 percent of gross domestic product (GDP). Commodity production sectors made up 32.8 percent, while taxes on products contributed 16.1 percent.

Trade activity saw a downturn in the first half of the year. The total trade in goods amounted to 6.99 billion dollars, marking a 12.4 percent decline from the same period in 2024. Exports fell sharply by 26.3 percent to 1.05 billion dollars, while imports dropped 9.4 percent to 5.95 billion dollars.

The statistical agency did not provide specific reasons for the fall in trade but noted that domestic production and services have shown resilience despite the external slowdown.
