Uzbekistan dismissed 297 officials for negligence, replacing them with young, modern-thinking professionals to tackle poverty and address citizens' needs.
Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced the dismissal of 297 officials for negligence and a lack of responsibility, replacing them with “enterprising young professionals who think in a modern way.”
Speaking at a meeting on poverty reduction efforts, Mirziyoyev criticised some officials for not taking the initiative seriously, believing it to be temporary. “A leader who does not solve the problems of citizens and entrepreneurs will be dismissed,” he warned, urging officials to adopt a new mindset.
The president highlighted the growing complexity of global politics and economics, stressing the need for timely solutions to avoid future consequences.
