Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi will pay an official visit to China today, with a goal to participate in a meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Council of Foreign Ministers. The meeting will be held in Tianjin on 15th July.
Iranian Foreign Ministry's spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei announced that during the visit Abbas Araqchi will hold bilateral talks with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and several other counterparts participating in the event. He is expected to present Iran’s positions on recent regional and international developments.
At the invitation of Member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Foreign Minister Wang Yi, foreign ministers of Russia, Pakistan, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Belarus and heads of SCO's permanent bodies will attend the meeting.
India's External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar will also attend the event.
"Parties will exchange views on SCO cooperation in various fields and major international and regional issues," the Chinese Foreign Ministry said
