Kazakh Security Council focuses on migration and geopolitical threats

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev chaired a regular meeting of the Kazakh Security Council today in Astana. The agenda included migration issues, geopolitical factors, and emerging threats.

During the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Yermek Kosherbayev, along with the Ministers of Internal Affairs, Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry, and Labor and Social Protection of the Population, delivered their respective reports.

According to the presidential press service, President Tokayev stressed the importance of taking into account geopolitical factors, emerging challenges, demographic forecasts, and reasons for population movement when formulating migration policy. 

He also underscored the need to strengthen control over illegal migration and to promote the growth of the nation's human capital.

The government received specific instructions, including a review of relevant government agencies' functions, as well as measures to enhance the integration of all information systems related to migration.
