Tech giant Google has announced a $1 billion investment to support Artificial Intelligence (AI) education and research at universities across the United States.
According to a statement from Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google’s parent company Alphabet, the initiative will provide students with free access to the company’s most advanced AI tools.
The funding will be distributed over the next three years to support university-level AI education, vocational training programmes, and academic research.
As part of the programme, students will be offered free training in AI and career development. More than a 100 universities have already signed up to take part.
