U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has said that Washington now has a clearer picture of the conditions under which Russia may be willing to end its war in Ukraine.
The statement follows a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump’s special envoy, Steve Witkoff.
Speaking in an interview with Fox Business Network’s “Kudlow” programme, Rubio said:
“Perhaps for the first time since this administration began, we have some concrete examples of the kinds of things Russia might ask for in order to end the war.”
According to Rubio, the core element of any potential peace agreement would revolve around territorial issues. The U.S. is now assessing these signals closely as it explores the possibility of a diplomatic resolution to the conflict.
