London hosted a giant multiplayer Tetris game to mark its 40th anniversary, inviting players to control pieces on LED screens in a free, interactive event at Outernet.
On Monday, October 28, London celebrated the 40th anniversary of Tetris with a massive interactive multiplayer game.
Hosted at Outernet, a central London venue known for its large LED screens, this event was touted by organizers as one of the largest multiplayer Tetris games ever held.
The public enjoyed free access, with participants joining by scanning a QR code and downloading an app. Seven players at a time took control of individually colored Tetris pieces that descended from the screens, competing with others in the venue.
Originally created in 1984 by Russian software engineer Alexey Pajitnov, Tetris continues to be widely popular, with billions of games played online each year, according to the Tetris brand.
