Boeing to cut 396 jobs in Washington by February as part of a 10% workforce reduction, following cost-cutting measures after a factory workers' strike in September.

US-based aerospace company Boeing announced that it will reduce its workforce in the state of Washington by 396 employees as part of a broader plan to cut its headcount by 10%.

According to a filing with the Washington State Employment Security Department, these redundancies will take effect in February next year.

In response to financial pressures following a factory workers' strike in September, Boeing has implemented several cost-cutting measures, including a hiring freeze, restrictions on travel, and the suspension of non-essential expenditures.

The company had previously disclosed in October its intention to reduce its workforce by 10%. Similarly, a notice issued in November outlined plans to lay off over 2,500 employees across Washington, Oregon, South Carolina, and Missouri.
