During his visit to the migrant detention centre in the Florida Everglades, known as 'Alligator Alcatraz,' U.S. President Donald Trump claimed that former president Joe Biden wanted him imprisoned there.
Trump made the comment while touring the facility alongside Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.
“Hey, Biden wanted me in here. It didn’t work out, but he wanted me in here,” he said.
Shortly after, he was heard muttering, “That son of a b***h,” referring to Biden.
‘Alligator Alcatraz’ is a temporary immigration detention centre in South Florida. Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier described it as a “one-stop shop” for enforcing The White House immigration policies.
The site covers 57 square kilometres (36 square miles) and has a 3,200 metres (10,500-foot) runway. It can hold more than a 1,000 beds.
