Polish President Andrzej Duda arrived in Kyiv on a farewell visit ahead of the end of his term on 6 August. He is expected to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during his stay.

Polish President Andrzej Duda has arrived in Kyiv for an unannounced visit, according to Ukrainian media reports citing the Polish presidential office.

The visit has been described by officials as a farewell gesture, as Duda’s second and final term in office concludes on 6 August.

“The President of Poland, Andrzej Duda, has arrived in Kyiv. His schedule includes a meeting with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy,” the Polish press office confirmed.

In early June, Duda informed Zelenskyy of his intention to visit Ukraine before the end of his presidency.

He will be succeeded by Karol Nawrocki, who won the country’s presidential election earlier this month.
