Israel struck the Shahid Raisi Nuclear Power Plant in Isfahan early Saturday, according to Iran’s state news agency IRNA.
Isfahan’s Deputy Governor Akbar Salehi said rescue teams were quickly deployed to the site, and no casualties have been reported so far. He also addressed public concerns, stating there is no radiation leak from the plant “that would cause concern.”
The strike comes a day after Israel targeted Iran’s Natanz and Fordo nuclear facilities. Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization confirmed that some nuclear contamination was detected inside the Natanz site, but spokesperson Behrouz Kamalvandi said it did not spread beyond the facility.
