Belgian midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has left Manchester City after a successful ten-year career to join Italian club Napoli on a free transfer. During his time at City, De Bruyne played a key role in helping the team secure six Premier League titles and a Champions League victory.
Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis welcomed the star signing with a photo on social media, captioned “Benvenuto (welcome) Kevin!”
De Bruyne, 33, concluded a highly successful 10-year stint at Manchester City, which the club confirmed would end after the 2024–25 season. Last season, he featured in 28 Premier League matches, scoring four goals and providing seven assists.
Since joining City from Wolfsburg in 2015, De Bruyne has been instrumental in the club’s dominance, helping them secure six Premier League titles and their first-ever UEFA Champions League trophy in 2023.
Over 422 appearances for Manchester City, he scored 108 goals and registered 177 assists, earning Premier League Player of the Season honours twice, in 2019–20 and 2021–22.
Napoli fans will now be eager to see how the talented midfielder adapts to life in Italy’s top flight.
