A 30-year-old woman was shot by police in Munich on Saturday evening after stabbing two people at Theresienwiese, a central park best known for hosting Oktoberfest.
The incident happened around 7:45 p.m. local time. Police say the woman attacked passersby with a knife before officers opened fire. She later died from her injuries in the hospital, according to the dpa news agency.
The area was cordoned off, and investigators are collecting evidence. Authorities have not confirmed the motive behind the attack. However, Bild newspaper reports the attacker may have suffered from mental health issues.
