At the meeting of the Turkic States Parliamentary Assembly (TURKPA) held in Astana, Azerbaijani deputy Ramil Hasan was elected Secretary General. Mahammad Alper Khayali was appointed as the Deputy Secretary General of TURKPA.
Within the framework of the meeting, the 14th plenary session on the theme "The Turkic Century: The Role of Parliamentary Diplomacy" was also held.
According to the final decision, the chairmanship of TURKPA was transferred from Azerbaijan to Kazakhstan, and the Astana Declaration was adopted.
