The Church of England is set to invest a record $2.2 billion over three years to support clergy and parishes, aiming to fuel a revival in church attendance.

The Church of England has announced a landmark spending plan of £1.6 billion ($2.2 billion) for 2026–2028—36% more than the previous cycle. The funds will boost clergy stipends, assist financially struggling parishes, and support churches serving disadvantaged communities. This move follows four years of rising church attendance, especially among young men, and comes as the Church faces scrutiny over safeguarding failures. About $38 million will go to protection efforts, with another $190 million reserved for a redress scheme. The Church’s endowment, which grew by over 10% in 2024, will fund the plan.
