Leaders of Azerbaijan and Pakistan discussed deeper cooperation

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif exchanged Eid al-Adha greetings in a phone call that also highlighted deepening ties and regional cooperation.

Both leaders extended best wishes for peace, prosperity, and continued progress to each other’s nations. They also reflected positively on their recent bilateral and trilateral meetings, including the Azerbaijan–Türkiye–Pakistan format held in Lachin, which they said strengthened bilateral ties.

The two sides discussed opportunities to expand cooperation in key areas such as trade, energy, defense, science, and tourism. Additionally, they shared their expectations for the upcoming Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Summit in Khankendi, expressing hope that it would further enhance collaboration among member states. The call also included discussions on other issues of mutual interest.
