In the 9th matchday of Group A in the third round of the Asian World Cup qualifiers, Uzbekistan drew 0-0 against the United Arab Emirates at Al Nahyan Stadium.
With this result, Uzbekistan reached 18 points and secured a top-two finish in the group with one match to go—guaranteeing their ticket to the World Cup.
Alongside Uzbekistan, other teams that have already qualified for the tournament include Iran, Japan, New Zealand, and Argentina.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico. For the first time in history, the tournament will feature 48 teams and will take place from June 11 to July 19, 2026.
As hosts, the U.S., Canada, and Mexico automatically qualify for the tournament.
