The Presidents of Azerbaijan and Türkiye, along with the Prime Minister of Pakistan, are set to attend the official inauguration of Lachin International Airport, the third airport built in Azerbaijan’s territories liberated from occupation.
According to a report by Anadolu Agency, President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of Türkiye, and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif of Pakistan will jointly participate in the opening ceremony of the new airport.
This marks another significant milestone in the region’s post-conflict reconstruction and development. President Erdoğan had previously attended the inauguration ceremonies of Fuzuli Airport in 2021 and Zangilan Airport in 2022, both located in Azerbaijan’s liberated regions.
The foundation of Lachin International Airport was laid in 2021, and its completion represents a key element in Azerbaijan’s efforts to boost infrastructure and regional connectivity in the South Caucasus.
