Major incident declared in Northamptonshire, UK after fire at recycling warehouse

Emergency crews were called to the Sanders Lodge Industrial Estate in England's East Midlands region.

England's Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service said it is receiving support from other fire services as it tackled a large blaze at a recycling warehouse. 

Emergency crews were called at around 6.30am local time on Friday, but rescue services anticipates crews will remain at the scene for the rest of the weekend. 

Twelve crews were on the scene tackling the fire involving "a large quantity of plastic".

Road closures have been put in place in the local Rushden area, and residents are being advised to avoid the area and keep their windows and doors closed.

The fire service said the building was evacuated and no injuries have been reported at the scene.
