Upon returning to Serbia, Vucic was admitted to the Military Medical Academy in Belgrade, where he was met by Health Minister Zlatibor Loncar and the head of the military health department, Dr. Dragan Dincic.
Dincic later told reporters that Vucic’s condition was stable, but revealed that the president experienced severe chest pain while in the U.S. He added that Vucic, 55, has a history of high blood pressure and similar episodes on three previous occasions. A full return to regular duties in the coming days would be unrealistic, Dincic said.
During his U.S. visit, Vucic had planned to meet with senior Republican Party officials and was also hoping to see U.S. President Donald Trump at his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida.
