At Expo 2025 Osaka-Kansai, the UAE is showcasing its growing space ambitions through the "Explorers of Space" exhibit, a centerpiece of the UAE Pavilion.
The platform offers visitors an immersive experience into the nation's space journey, featuring milestones like the Emirates Mars Mission (Hope Probe), the Rashid Rover lunar mission, and upcoming asteroid exploration plans.
Curated in partnership with Space42, the official supporter of the Space Explorers zone, the exhibit reflects the UAE's drive to integrate advanced technologies into space exploration and real-life applications. Space42, the UAE's first space tech firm to fully implement artificial intelligence in its operations, aims to merge satellite communications, geospatial analytics, and AI to create impactful global solutions.
The pavilion, themed "From Earth to Ether", aligns with the UAE's transformation from a heritage-rich society to one focused on innovation and discovery. According to Space42's Chief Commercial Officer Sulaiman Al Ali, Expo 2025 offers a valuable platform to expand globally and strengthen collaborations, especially with Japan, a key space partner.
Space42 currently operates a fleet of over six satellites across 150+ countries, providing services like disaster response, mobility solutions through Thuraya-4, and Earth monitoring with the expanding Foresight satellite constellation. The company is also developing the Yah 4 and Yah 5 satellites and is set to launch a radar satellite constellation by 2027, alongside more than 15 new tech products.
Blending tradition with innovation, the exhibit features a rocket sculpture handwoven from palm fronds by Emirati women artisans, symbolizing the UAE's commitment to honoring its cultural roots while advancing toward a high-tech future.
