Colombia begins process to join BRICS bank
Colombian President Gustavo Petro announced on May 16 that his country has started the process of joining the New Development Bank of BRICS.
Kyiv on Monday said Moscow must immediately end hostilities in Ukraine if it genuinely desires peace, responding to Russian President Vladimir Putin’s announcement of a unilateral three-day ceasefire.

Sybiha emphasized that Ukraine is ready to support a “lasting, durable, and full” ceasefire, adding: “This is what we are constantly proposing, for at least 30 days.”
Earlier Monday, Putin declared a unilateral ceasefire in Ukraine, set to begin at midnight on May 7-8 and end at midnight on May 10-11, coinciding with Moscow’s celebrations of the 80th anniversary of Victory Day.
