Trump delays TikTok deal as China reaches out amid tariff tensions

Reuters

Following the U.S. tariff impositions, President Donald Trump revealed that China has sought discussions, but he will delay any agreement on TikTok until the trade issues with China are addressed.

Trump noted that while the trade issue remains unresolved, he believes a deal will eventually be reached with China.

Meanwhile, China's commerce ministry urged the U.S. to cease applying "extreme pressure" and demanded respect in any ongoing trade discussions. Despite easing some tariffs on goods from various trading partners, Trump maintained his newly imposed 145% tariffs on Chinese imports.
