The Kremlin announced on Tuesday that President Vladimir Putin is open to restoring relations with Finland, which are currently in a "sad state," if Helsinki expresses a desire to rebuild them.
This comes after Finnish President Alexander Stubb told British counterpart Keir Starmer on Monday that Finland needs to “mentally prepare” for the potential restoration of ties with Russia.
Finland, which shares a 1,300 km border with Russia, joined NATO in 2023, a move that Moscow previously condemned as a historic mistake.
