According to the La Réunion Governorate on X, the storm has left 160,000 households without power, 310,000 without water, and 139,000 without internet access.
Authorities have placed 953 people in shelters as the cyclone continues to affect the island.
The governorate has advised residents to remain vigilant and minimise travel due to ongoing risks.
