In the wake of the Novi Sad railway disaster that killed 15 people, student-led protests have intensified across Serbia, becoming a major threat to President Aleksandar Vucic's government. Protesters, fueled by frustration over government corruption, gathered in Kragujevac, marking three months since the tragedy.
Students, some traveling from as far as Belgrade, staged a 15-hour blockade in tribute to the victims and demanded transparency and accountability in the investigation. Despite the government's promise to fight corruption, protests have continued, with students taking over university buildings and blocking roads.
The protestors are calling for the release of documents related to the roof collapse, justice for the victims, and better funding for higher education. Vucic’s government has dismissed allegations of corruption, while the protests gain momentum across the country.
