At least 20 people have been injured in the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro after a fire broke out at a carnival costume factory.
Firefighters rescued people through windows as flames engulfed the plant in the Ramos neighbourhood.
Rio state health secretary, Claudia Mello, says that eight people, including five women and three men, are in serious condition due to smoke inhalation and internal burns.
Rio's health department indicated that five other hospitals were also treating injuries.
