Egypt has rejected U.S. President Donald Trump’s proposal to resettle Palestinians outside Gaza, affirming that no land will be allocated for relocation. Instead, Cairo plans to present a comprehensive proposal to rebuild Gaza while ensuring its residents remain.
Egypt’s foreign ministry announced on Tuesday that it would introduce a detailed reconstruction plan for Gaza’s recovery, emphasizing the need to preserve Palestinian presence in their homeland.
The statement followed Trump’s renewed push for his Gaza redevelopment plan, which proposes U.S. control over the enclave and resettlement of Palestinians in Egypt, Jordan, and other locations.
State-affiliated Al Qahera News TV, citing Egyptian sources, reported that Cairo firmly rejects any suggestion of allocating land to Gaza’s displaced population.
Despite its opposition to relocation, Egypt expressed willingness to cooperate with Washington in pursuit of a comprehensive peace solution in the region.
The proposal comes as Trump continues diplomatic efforts to secure backing for his controversial plan, which has faced widespread rejection from Arab states.
