China-Russia-U.S. summit would encourage Putin to continue war, Ukraine's Foreign Minister says

A summit between the leaders of China, Russia and the U.S. to discuss a deal to end the Russia-Ukraine conflict would only encourage Russian President Vladimir Putin to continue the war, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha has said.

"Inviting Putin to such a meeting would feed his appetite for self-aggrandisement and give him a stature he does not deserve. He is not a global leader; he is a war criminal. And Russia is not a global power; it is a global problem," Sybiha said in a post on X.

His remarks come after the Wall Street Journal reported that Putin has floated the idea of meeting U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese leader Xi Jinping in November, in an attempt to negotiate an an agreement to end the war.

Rubio denies U.S. paused intelligence sharing with Ukraine

Reuters

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has denied claims that Washington temporarily suspended intelligence sharing with Ukraine. Speaking to reporters in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, on Monday, Rubio said there had been no interruption, contradicting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

In an interview with NBC on Sunday, Zelenskyy said intelligence sharing had briefly been blocked before being restored. Rubio questioned the Ukrainian leader's remarks and urged him to focus on ending the war with Russia.

The conflicting statements come amid growing tensions between Washington and Kyiv over U.S. military and intelligence support. Zelenskyy has also accused the U.S. of restricting Ukraine's access to the SpaceX-designed Starshield system, an allegation American officials have denied. Ukraine relies heavily on U.S. intelligence to detect incoming Russian ballistic missiles and protect its cities from attacks.

Ukraine received no warning about overnight Russian missile attacks, Zelenskyy says

Energy infrastructure, a clinic, a school and a metro station were damaged in the attacks, he said.

“When deliveries of missiles for Ukraine's air defence are blocked while Russia is granted relief or delays in sanctions, this is, unfortunately, a denial of reality on the part of our partners," Zelenskyy said.

Previously, Zelenskyy said that Ukraine was currently receiving just 12 Patriot interceptor missiles per month from the U.S., approximately a quarter of the number provided when former U.S. President Joe Biden was in office.
