On Wednesday night, an American Airlines regional jet collided mid-air with a U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopter near Reagan Washington National Airport. Flight data from Flightradar24.com tracked the jet’s route before it signal was lost over the Potomac River.
Multiple agencies are conducting a search and rescue operation in the river. In response to the incident, Reagan Airport temporarily suspended all takeoffs and landings while emergency crews worked on-site.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the collision.
